THE EXHAUSTION OF GOOGLE

THE EXHAUSTION OF GOOGLE By: Taiwo Akorede (TAAG) Basically, establishment of the online search engine: google, is enthralling and compensating. It is a verifiable platform that denotes a wide incredibility. However, these advantages shouldn't be given outrageous reliance by students, and other subsidiaries, that it will depreciates self intelligence and less challenge individual horizons. Lately, the activeness on google pronounces laziness above competency. It is unconventional that, countable number of students nowadays see this modern advantage as a subsidiary to blossom their scandalousness. They rarely adopt critical thinking nor personal ideas. The establishment of “Google” was a result of intelligence, competence, and critical thinking. The primary mission of the google inventor, Larry Page, who was administered by Sergey Brin, was to furnish the world’s information and make it accessible, and useful by the universe. David Koller, a Czech musician and record producer, gave explicit information on the origin of google. He narrated thus: In 1996, Larry Page and Sergey Brin called their initial search engine "BackRub," named for its analysis of the web's "back links." Larry and his officemates discussed a number of possible new names for the rapidly improving search technology. Sean recalls the final brainstorming session as occurring one day during September of that year. Sean and Larry were in their office, using the whiteboard, trying to think up a good name - something that related to the indexing of an immense amount of data. Sean verbally suggested the word "googolplex," and Larry responded verbally with the shortened form, "googol" (both words refer to specific large numbers). Sean was seated at his computer terminal, so he executed a search of the Internet domain name registry database to see if the newly suggested name was still available for registration and use. Sean is not an infallible speller, and he made the mistake of searching for the name spelled as "google.com," which he found to be available. Larry liked the name, and within hours he took the step of registering the name "google.com" for himself and Sergey (Koller). Plausibly, the top searches on google trend by students as at today, are more discouraging than motivating. It is tragic that, students now go on google even to search the difference between, heaven and earth, a boy and a girl. Although, it is quite encouraging that certain percentage of students are making adequate use of the online search engine, but very devious that some students still give much reliance on google than challenging their personal intelligence. This is a submission to dullardness and incompetence. Conclusively, the access to google should be seen as an advantage that compliments personal knowledge and ideas, and not a compliment to laziness and dullardness. It is a primary expectation, from the inventors, that this source would be a source of information that will support students, and also relevant custodians, in moderating and compiling a profound articulations. These advantages should be worthilly appreciated with diligently usage and not scandalousness.
